Liar! Liar! Pants on Fire!
There is as really interesting article on the Huffington Post today about lying and how sometimes it is necessary. As a mother, sister, daughter and friend I know this to be absolutely the truth. Don’t get me wrong, I abhor lies and the lying liars that tell them. But I do make the distinction between trying to mislead someone and avoiding the complete truth for the betterment of the situation. It is a slippery slope and certainly not one to be undertaken lightly. I am not comfortable telling out right lies, even when the situation may appear to call for it. But I have used misleading answers to avoid either hurting someones feelings or maintain an amicable atmosphere. Sometimes the truth is more about strengthening a relationship or furthering an understanding then it is about not telling a lie. And that ain’t no lie!
