Cancer Full Moon

Early in the morning of Monday 1/9/2012 the Full Cancer Moon will ascend into the sky in all her glory. This is a moon of relationships as the feminine and emotional Cancer Moon counterpoints masculine and logical Capricorn sun. It is a time for evaluating your relationships with others as well as your relationship with yourself. Who are you? How do you present yourself to the universe? What is the role that you take on in your relationships? Are you balanced and healthy and strong?

Often we feel obligated to embody one aspects in our relationships, to lean into one corner of our selves. Balance is not always something that comes naturally and we can find it easier to step strongly to one facet of our being over another. Sometimes we will sacrifice one part of ourselves to empower another but this creates a false sense of power. Balance comes from allowing each piece space within a circle of strength and equinimity. Too often we express ourselves by trying to fully embody one aspect in a secular way when true power comes from an integration, a blending.

The trinity of the female aspects are Maiden (lover), Mother (nuturer) and Crone (teacher). Don’t segregate your sexual sparkle (sacral chakra) from your loving (heart chakra) or your guiding light (third eye chakra). Allow the three aspects (orange, green and purple) to braid and blend to create a stronger, more focused Being.

As for masculine strength, men need to temper their characteristic physical nature (base chakra) of the Warrior and assertive forward momentum (solar plexus chakra) of the Explorer/Conqueror with an openness to communicating (throat chakra) of the Negotiator. A blending of the power, action and understanding by braiding together the red and yellow and blue; this is how you become a strong and secure Being.
