December Full Moon in Cancer

Friday December 28, 2012 is the last full moon of the year and a powerful opportunity for transformation and healing. This MOON will rise early in Cancer  (sign of emotions and relationships) counterbalanced by the SUN in Capricorn (sign of stability and security) with a focus on your home life. Coming so close to the end of the 2012 cycle the energy will be very supportive in creating new beginnings and releasing that which doesn’t serve us. The Cancer crab is at home in water, in the flow of life and the universe and we can find our sense of security in the stability of Capricorn as we embrace change.

Some of the issues highlighted during this time could be family dynamics, feelings of rootedness and safety as well as questions of where you belong. Security challenges are sure to come up either financial or emotional and perhaps even professional. This is a time for letting go of the past and moving through old comfort zones into unknown territory.  It is a great time to release old patterns and prepare to move forward into new beginnings of all kinds. Take advantage of the energy to explore new avenues of expression, new dynamics in relationships, new themes and exploring the unknown.

Remember that anxiety and fear are natural responses when our sense of security or home is challenged. If you find yourself mired in unease try deep belly breathing (count to four each time as you inhale, hold then exhale) and a salt bath to help your body and mind to adjust to the energies. Keeping a vial of Lavender essential oil to sniff and dab on you can also be very helpful. In your dealings with others, be kind and aware that many people may be feeling harried or snappish at this time. Keeping perspective and objectivity will help in maintaining your own equilibrium as well as deal with those around you.
